The abdominal bloating is a buildup of gas in the stomach or intestines, and it is caused by several things such as consuming certain foods or carbonated drinks, bad eating habits such as eating too fast or lying down right after lunch or dinner, chewing gum, smoking, stress or anxiety.
Dietary errors or too stressful lifestyle
In fact, in most cases abdominal bloating is precisely caused by dietary errors or too stressful and hurried lifestyle.
In other cases, however, it may hide other conditions or more serious diseases such as appendicitis, gallstones, cirrhosis of the liver, cholecystitis, cystic fibrosis, gastroenteritis, intestinal obstruction, irritable bowel syndrome, typhoid, colorectal or ovarian cancer, duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer.
Or result from issues such as celiac disease or lactose intolerance. Remedies to reduce or eliminate abdominal bloating are many, but the first thing is to follow a proper diet.
In all cases of abdominal bloating, even after a light meal, it is good to indulge in a quarter-hour walk.
Regarding diet, it is helpful to take foods such as:
- Fruit: apple, blueberry, pineapple, grape, aloe vera (which have detoxifying action, activate intestinal transit and balance intestinal flora)
- vegetables: fennel, mint
- Whole foods: pasta and rice
As a combination, it is good to combine protein and vegetables (not fried).
There are some natural remedies also very helpful in reducing swelling such as some spices: cumin, anise but also angelica, mint, lemon balm, chamomile, fennel. A good remedy is also the supplementation in the diet of natural products formulated with fiber such as: agar agar, glucomannan, guar gum, psyllum pectins, Karaya gum.
One can also take supplements based on milk enzymes or fructo-oligo-saccharides that regularize intestinal flora, counteract and prevent phenomena of meteorism and intestinal bloating.
